Brief Explanation
How can you look inside the mind of one of the world’s greatest inventors? How do you take masses of technical details and historical facts and turn them into a great and compelling story, and make that story appeal to a wide range of users? These are the challenges we faced when asked to develop an iPad app to mark the 195th birthday of the Siemens company founder. We mixed an outstanding motion graphic design with a skilfully edited narrative to takes users on a multi-media journey through the fascinating life of Werner von Siemens, and added interactive elements so users can test for themselves some of his inventions and this great story really comes to life. Our idea resulted in an app that educates, entertains and captures the spirit of Siemens then and now in a great user experience. Its appeal is evident from the several thousands downloads in the first few weeks after its launch being also honoured by the ‘Mobile of the Day Award’ by the FWA.
