  • Johannes Leonardo New York knew that 80% of people who try on Nomis boots buy them. With retail store shelves dominated by the big sports brands (adidas, nike etc), Nomis needed a strategy to get boots to the customers where consumers could experience the boots without the hype and seduction of the retail environment. Young footballers were copying the boot choices of their idols without asking any questions. So we needed an idea that would get our boots on people's feet so they could see for themselves.
    Nomis Vangaurds were introduced - a fleet of mobile retail stores, 50 vans across 6 countries. The vans were driven by specially selected brand advocates made up former coaches and players to get the Nomis message out to the local community. A grassroots effort that brought Nomis football boots directly to the players on their local pitch. The Vangaurds allowed consumers to experience the boots without the hype and without the seduction of the retail environment. On their local pitch where they learn about a brand that puts them first and gets them to ask their feet.
